What We Inspect

Hooksett & Manchester Brake Service — A Full System Inspection, Not Just Pads

Brake service at Reflex starts with all four corners — not a quick glance at pad thickness. We measure, photograph, and document every component, then walk you through exactly what your car needs and why. Free loaner car included every visit.

All Four Corners Inspected

Pad thickness, rotor condition and runout, caliper operation, hardware, brake lines, and fluid condition — front and rear, measured and documented on every visit.

OEM-Spec Brake Pads

Audi and VW use specific friction compounds — the wrong pad causes excessive dust, brake noise, and uneven wear. We use the correct spec for your vehicle, not a generic substitute.

Digital Inspection with Photos

You receive photos and measurements of every brake corner before we recommend anything. You see the actual pad depth, the rotor surface, the caliper condition — nothing hidden.

Free Loaner Car

What impressed me most was that there was no pushy sales for additional items that needed attention...I will absolutely be coming back for additional maintenance in the near future and will recommend this shop to others without hesitation. Brought my Audi A4 to Reflex Tuning for new tires and brake pads/rotors. Heather (the owner) was personable, extremely easy to work with, and provided a very thorough initial quote. She was able to get my car in and out in 24 hours, which I just did not expect. They provided a very thorough inspection report of the overall condition of the car, with detailed pictures and explanations for what looks good now, and what should be considered for maintenance. Really loved this. What impressed me most was that there was no pushy sales for additional items that needed attention. Heather provided recommendations on a few other items that would be ideal to take care of now, and I trusted her judgement overall. Prices were less than the local Audi dealer and extremely reasonable, given that these cars can be more costly to maintain long-term than other brands. I will absolutely be coming back for additional maintenance in the near future and will recommend this shop to others without hesitation.

FAQ

Brake Service Questions, Answered

Common signs include squealing or grinding noise when stopping, a pulsing or vibrating pedal, the car pulling to one side when you brake, a soft or spongy pedal feel, or a brake warning light. Any of these is a reason to get your brakes looked at. If you hear grinding, don't wait — metal-on-metal contact means the pads are gone and rotors may already be damaged. Every oil change visit includes a brake inspection, so we catch wear before it becomes urgent.
It depends on what your car actually needs. Pads only costs less than pads and rotors. A single axle costs less than all four corners. Audi and VW brake components are typically higher quality — and higher cost — than generic parts for domestic vehicles, which is why the spec matters. Schedule online or call us at (603) 207-4004 and we'll give you a straight answer after we inspect your car.
Yes — Audi and VW are our specialty. Their brake systems have specific requirements: larger rotors and different friction compound ratings than most domestic vehicles. Using the wrong pad compound causes excessive dust, brake noise, and premature wear. We stock the correct OEM-spec pads for Audi and VW models and service every other make on the road as well.
Not always. We measure rotor thickness and check for runout (warping) on every inspection. If your rotors are within the manufacturer's minimum thickness spec and the surface is in good condition, pads-only is the right call. We'll never recommend rotor replacement unless the numbers say it's needed — and if they do, we show you the measurements and explain why. Our digital inspection documents everything.
Brake pads and rotors are wear items — they wear down through normal use and don't carry a parts warranty the same way a water pump or alternator would. What we do stand behind is our workmanship. If there's ever an installation issue on our end, we make it right. We use quality OEM-spec components and document every repair through our digital inspection system.
OEM-spec pads are engineered for your specific vehicle — the correct friction coefficient, compound, and backing plate dimensions. Aftermarket pads vary widely in quality. Some are fine; others cause excessive dust, brake noise, or uneven rotor wear. For Audi and VW in particular, pad compound matters because these vehicles are engineered around specific stopping characteristics. We use pads that meet or exceed the factory specification.
