This past week, we installed a factory trailer hitch kit on a 2024 Audi Q5. We went with the OEM option because it fits perfectly and integrates seamlessly with the vehicle’s braking and warning systems.
Before installing, we undercoated the hitch to protect it from long-term rust. Something most places would never do.
Once the hitch was mounted, we programmed the control module to the vehicle using our factory-level diagnostic equipment. This step is critical for proper operation and unless you have this equipment, you would not be able to utilize the plug-in wiring.
